Will the LR work for cat with renal failure? LARGE clumps

Postby trberry5 » Sun Aug 10, 2003 11:48 pm

I have one kitty with renal failure that pees massive amounts, and one healthy kitty. I am using the littermaid now and it's been pretty good, but am considering trying the LR simply because the waste container is larger.

I have to empty the littermaid's containers EVERY day at this point, and reallllly need one I can leave for 2 or 3 days while out of town.

Anyone have a similar situation?

excessively large clumps

Dear tracyree,

We do not recommend Litter Robot for diabetic cats because they often pass very large amounts of urine at a time that make the clumps too large to pass through the waste ports. I would say that this same situation probably applies to your cat with renal failure. If a clump is too large to be deposited into the waste drawer, it will end up staying in the globe with the clean litter and could cause an odor.

I hope this helps!
