Another thing about cleaning the globe. I discovered I can power wash it in the basement (it's electric) by putting it in a large garbage bag with one corner cut so it drains into the basement drain. Using a power washer is much quicker than scrubbing it by hand and it dries much faster since I'm hitting it with less water.

RE: Possible Solution for Leak to Waste Drawer

Postby EPF4CATS » Sat Feb 03, 2007 11:44 am

Here is a very easy solution I've found for keeping the Waste Drawer clean.
I line the Drawer with "Press-N-Seal" Freezer wrap. Its the blue one rather than the clear one since its a little thicker. Then I attach the bag and anything that falls out just gets tossed out with the liner.

I have 11 cats using 3 Liter Robots happily. I just purchased (2 weeks ago) 2 more and the only complaints I have with the new upgrades are the removal of the Clips to the ruber push in bag holders. The clips actually held the bags but the bags just fall out of the rubber ones. I also find removing the drum and removing the bad thru the opening much better than the gunk you get when puling open the drawer.

History - In 1994 I was diagnosed with Mulitle Sclerosis (MS) and I had 2 cats at the time. The first weekend after returning from the hospital, I had some difficulty breathing around midnight and my father who was visiting at the time kept asking me if I was Alright, my white cat, Christy immediately jumped onto the phone and hit the Emergency 9-1-1 button on the phone. In the last 13 years she has does this twice and both times were needed and in the presence of friends who just stood by. I tell everyone she's my nurse and she looks the part too lol.

The other Cat, Tashia was my oldest she was 19 years old when she passed on the 14th of July 2005, attacked a burglar and sent him off the 2nd floor balcony of the apartment building we were living in and into the arms of the police according to neighbors. I wasn't home at the time, but was given a cat re-enactment by tashia banging her head into the sliding glass door to show me it was open. The apartment complex told me the cat never even let the person enter my apartment. The visual discription I have is simular to the Karate Dog commercials a few years ago on TV. Funny thing is Tashia was Declawed but certainly not defenseless!!!. She had been abused as a kitten and she adopted me.

As a result of these 2 amazing cats, I am reluctant to turn away a stray in need of a good home. I was up to 13, but lost 2 last year (however, not looking for more) All my cats are cats that choose to live with me. I can leave my doors open and none of them will leave. They are all spayed / neutered and microchiped.

Smelly Robot?

Postby edublives » Sat Mar 31, 2007 8:21 pm

I had the problem with the smelly litter robot... I have two cats, and the LR2, which I've now had for about 3 weeks. Both cats are using it great, except one of the cats (the fat, dumb one) would not turn around and would dribble pee down the front of the robot, and into the drawer.

Maaaan, that made the robot smell.

Then I after reading in this forum, I used duct tape to tape up the bottom 1/3 of the entrance, and she's stopped peeing out the front, and the robot no longer smells.

I'm actually not sure if she turns aroud now, or if she's just peeing on the inside of the tape, but I honestly don't really care enough to watch. Problem solved!
