LR ports getting stuck open!

Postby tekwho1 » Tue May 09, 2006 9:55 am

Has anyone had a problem with litter coated feces getting stuck in the ports? We have had our LR for a few months now and are really happy with it, but I went down today and found the ports stuck open with feces as above with the LR in the green waiting mode and normally positioned. Did we do something wrong in setting it up. I noticed the black lever in the front just inside the door that opens the ports can be moved all the time. Is it supposed to do that? I'm wondering if our cat is bumping it or something when he uses the LR. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Postby APCP_Inc » Thu May 18, 2006 8:30 am

Hi there,

Sounds like the torsion spring came loose which lets the door flop open. Just call our customer service line and we'll send you a replacment.

Poop door stays open!

Postby MikeRadio » Tue Mar 06, 2007 7:46 pm

My Robot is 2 weeks old and I came home to a weird occurence similar to this...

There was POOP on the steps and the robot started cycling.

It was in HOME position but the poop door was open JUST a little.... enough so the lever was blocking entry.... I assume that is why the cat mad eon the steps.

Anyway, I checked the door... It seems you CAN open it in any position in order to fil litter through there etc)... and it DOES seem to close on its own.

I do not know HOW or WHAT would cause it not to close all the way.... Do I need a new spring?

Can someoenc heck the doopr opening handle... The spring ISNT very forceful.. it sort of flops closed on mine.. is this normal, or did something happen or is the spring bad? Maybe this is why it didnt close good for some reason.

Anyone else every have this happen

Castor knocks on the door when he digs, so it doesn't take much to move it. SOmetimes he will get some wet litter stuck in there when it does this and the door won't close all the way. I just flip the little handle a few times and it knocks off the litter and it will close on it's own then.

That may be what happened.. something got stuck... But this isnt good if I go out of town and leave the box there a few days.... becuase the handle blocking the door doesnt let the cat in.. I know it is done so they do not go in when the ports are open bottomside..

Well this is the first time this happened.. maybe it is a fluke and wont happen again .. I am hoping!

I think what may have been happening is that the door inside became stuck against the rubber part in the globe.. I dont know how this happened and it only happened once.. so I am hoping it will not again.. I dan not get it to "stick"open anymore....
