One of the LiterMaid issues is getting the rake to go through the litter without getting stuck. It seems like the Litter Revolution would also have that issue since it seems to be pushing something (a rake, a screen, something) through the litter like the LItterMaid.

The Litter Robot's system is very simple. The entire globe rotates pouring all the litter through a screen into a section of the globe. Also the liner at the bottom of the globe is flexible and weighted causing it to shed any clumps that are stuck to it. Once the litter has been filtered, all that's left are the clumps. As the globe continues to rotate, the clumps drop through holes into the tray below. The globe then reverses pouring the litter back into the bottom and leveling it out.

Since the whole process relies on gravity, nothing can get stuck or overloaded. The main fault of the system is that it assumes that all clumps will fit through the drop holes. If they don't they either fall back into the liter or, far worse, get chopped, ground up, and smeared all over the globe as it rotates back.

Scott... from what has been posted it sounds nothing like the LitterMaid. The drum rotates... the drum has a screen inside it... and it rotates and uses gravity to sift. Nothing at all like the litter maid.

How could it keep the litter from sticking to the bottom of the drum? Even the LR's flexible weighted membrane gets pretty gross after a couple of days and it's designed to shed anything sticking to it.

All clear?

I wonder why they made the whole thing clear? Some cats would probably like it, but it does make it less private. And it means you would see all of the litter all of the time, which I don't have to do with my Robot.

The skimpiness of the website also made me wonder. If you are great, show, don't tell.
