has anyone tried the LitterRobot?

Postby Heather » Thu Sep 19, 2002 6:23 pm

Hi - I currently own a Littermaid. My THIRD. (They keep breaking.) Usually about 1 week after the warrantee is up. And WHY do I keep buying another? Because I have 3 cats, one of which refuses to use anything but a scrupulously clean box! I am concerned that the flushing box wouldn’t work because it would be dirty some of the time. Has anyone tried the third alternative the Litter Robot? I would like to know about any experiences with it.

LitterRobot?

I haven't seen the "LitterRobot". Please explain.

As for the Litterfree, it has a timer that you can set. The box is clean most of the time. If you want something that cleans when the cat leaves, I'll refer you to Jeff. He was working on a solution to that issue when we abandoned the project. I warn you, it is technical and involves an x-10 switch, a computer, and I think a scale...

I think the timer is adequate in most circumstances.

I had not seen this device before. Thanks, Heather!

This one looks like it might be better than the Litterfree for skittish animals, like my own Shadow. It also looks a bit more promising than the Littermaid since it does not have any rakes. Just what I need, another $300 litterbox! Carrie, what do you think?

As for adding a "cat sensor" to the litterfree ... it is very complicated and I do not recommend it.

Jeff

The Litter Robot should arrive sometime next week. We plan to test it with regular clumping litter as well as WBCO (World's Best Cat Litter) and report back. I am creating a new discussion category for the Litter Robot. If anyone else has had experiences with this product, please post them!

Thanks,

Jeff
