I am an electrical engineer that works a lot of overtime (not by choice). My wife and I just had a baby 7 months ago. Between working, housework, and spending time with the little one, I don't have much time to deal with litter. I thought that the LitterMaid would help. So far it is doing pretty good, but I find myself letting it go a little too long or it jams up. Before I know it, the whole house smells like cat @#*!.
I have found tons of great ideas on this forum. I would like to take some of these ideas along with some of my own and build an automatic litter box that actually works. I have a friend that I work with that is a mechanical engineer to help with mechanical designs. Once we have a good design we will have our company build and sell them (hopefully pretty cheap). If all goes well we all may have a little more time to spend doing the things we actually enjoy doing.
Please email any ideas to mailto:autolitter@yahoo.com.
By the way, all of you people with 7 or 8 cats, I don't see how you do it. I hate cleaning up after only two. There has to be a better way.
