Automatic Litterbox Central

For those that still use the old-fashioned manual litterboxes, we have found the best scooper. It's called the Litter Lifter (http://www.litter-lifter.com/), & we love it. We bought ours at PetSmart for $6.99 on sale, but it can also be ordered online. It is very sturdy, requires much less work than regular scoopers, & it does a good job of getting out small pieces of waste or clumps. We use ours with Fresh Results (aka Nature's Miracle) litter.

I did a forum search, & this scooper has been mentioned in a few other places, but I thought it deserved an eye-catching title. It really is a great improvement over any other scoop we've tried.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've never seen one of these before and it looks like it would be helpful even for those automatic litter boxes that still require scooping.

I use the Van Ness large sifter litter boxes (see my "Maybe cheap scoop-free at last" topic above) and usually only scoop if one of my cats uses my old Litter Maid I keep as an extra, but I wonder if this scooper would get the tiny little clumps that still get through the grate of the sifter on my Van Ness boxes. I bet I could just skim them off the top in no time flat with this scooper.

I finally found one of these at Petsmart and it really does work well. You have to go through the litter a bit to really get the broken pieces, but it makes the litter in my second box, which is a Smart Scoop, last a heck of a lot longer and stay tons cleaner. Won't do me any good for my Cat Genie, but it is great for the clay litter. I don't use it all of the time, just when a chunk gets broken up and spread out. This nifty thing gets just about all of that broken up yuckiness that a normal litter scoop can't do anything about. It was very much worth the 9.99 plus tax that I paid and I will be telling family and friends to invest in one for themselves. Thanks for the heads up on this!

I haven't tried that one, but the scoop I have that I love is the DuraScoop - http://www.durascoop.com/

It has a huge scoop, a comfortable handle, and made of metal. It's more like a gardening tool than a cat scoop. Makes quick work of the massive messes my fatso cat can dish out.

I have the durascoop, too. MASSIVE improvement over a plastic one. Especially the "fling" factor you get when you catch a plastic one on something and it snaps and catapults whatever is on it across the room. :b
