It raises litterbox off the ground for cat owners' convenience; theoretically prevents litter tracking.

(sorry if this new box has already been announced here.)

That's a nice idea, although I think the cats will just kick litter onto the bottom of it - but I guess you can just vacuum it out. Too bad they didn't include an exhaust fan with a carbon filter, but I bet you could easily install one!

However, as a cat gets older and possibly arthritic, they probably wouldn't be able to use it.

Arthritic cats...

Postby michaden » Wed Jun 02, 2004 8:41 am

I agree that older arthritic cats may not "want" to use this system. I have to keep the cat food on a shelf away from the dog and my cats have to make several jumps to get to the food. My oldest cat (15+) has terrible arthritis in both back legs and she's not a thin cat. She uses a suitcase at the foot of the bed as a step to get on the bed. She does however seem to make the jumps to the food bowl without any problems.... She loves eating and sleeping on the bed... I'm not so sure she would make the jump to a litterbox- the motivation just isn't there.
