I recently fostered a siamese cat named Louie who used his litter box to show me he was mad. Ordinarily, he was really neat in his box - did his business, covered it neatly and didn't leave much mess at all. That is, until he was mad at me for closing him in a bedroom one day and he dumped over the box - the whole thing, right on the carpet. I thought it was just a fluke until I noticed that happened every time he was mad about something. Little snot! :)

Face it - if we didn't love their unpredictable and mildly mischievous natures, we'd be on a doggy pooper-scooper forum.

Hi ... I have 9 indoor cats and know the flinging litter syndrome all too well. I bought inexpensive boot trays (the kind you would leave at your front door for shoes, boots, etc). The litterboxes we use (Tidy Cats blue dome) fit perfectly and there's enough room in front to catch the majority of the litter that is kicked out. Some litter still gets tracked but not as much if I didn't have the boxes in these trays. Of course, vaccuuming 3 times a day also works around here.
Because every life should have nine cats
