A cab driver said he had been feeding her for a month and 5 days!
As I was listening to the story on tv, I was throwing on clothes and when I was dressed I flew out the door and to the pet store where I bought a cardboard carrier. Back home to get some fluffy blanket for the box. I went to the site and spoke with the fire chief. I gave him the carrier and asked him to call me if they managed to rescue the kitten. He said he would, but cautioned me that the cat was feral and wanted to know if I was 'equipped '' to handle it. I told him not to worry about that just get the cat. I still don't know what he meant by equipped.
I no sooner got home and the phone was ringing. They got the kitten! yay! I raced back, thinking about how I was going it deal with a feral cat and what my options would be, never ever considering I would keep it.
I got there and all of the stupid news people swarmed my car before I could get out. Somehow I managed to get over to where the fire chief was with the cat. I took one look in the carrier and knew right then and there, she was mine forever. Such a cutiepie face. I picked her up, she was soaking wet and scared. SHe immediately crawled into my jacket and started with the loudest purr I have ever heard from a cat. I went straight to the vet where she was checked, tested and shots given. She was a little skinny but otherwise perfect. She didnt even have fleas! She is about 2 months old, so I am sure someone just dumped her. I cant even imagine her being in that drain since she was 4 weeks old! Grrrr
Meet little Stormy: (she is still camera shy but loves head kisses and cuddles)
