I just wanted to come back and tell everyone what I had to do to remedy the problem cat.
Took the cat to the vet, and asked him, as a last resort what to do. I hate putting down a perfectly good animal, but i was at my wits end.
We tested him for a UTI and it came back negative. so the vet said it's a behavioral problem. He said prozac would be the thing to try next, said that they've had great results with prozac and cats with behavior problems.

Fist night on prozac he stopped peeing in front of the child's door, stopped peeing under the high chair. and stopped howling at night. He's much more mellow and he comes out more than he used to during the day. My only issue is it's stressful to me to give him a pill everyday. Can't mix it into the food, he smells it and tastes it. Anyway, things have been much better since he's been on prozac.

Wish it didn't have to be like that but he's still alive and still with us.
thanks for all the input.

We have a cat who has peed all over the floor in our house and it's destroying the wood floor in the dinning room because that has become her new favorite spot. We tried putting her in a closed in shower for a month and visiting her during the day all the time and she would still sometimes pee on the floor in the shower and lay on it instead of in the box even if the box was clean. I've taken her in and she has no UTI. She does have IC according to the vet, but I was able to treat that by getting her a water fountain and giving her chicken broth with her food to get her to drink more water. We have tried the Feliway, normal litter box, normal with hood, Cat Genie, Smart Scoop, Scoop Free Litter Robot, Litter Maid, a ton of clay litters, pine litter, Dr, Eisley, Cat Attract shake in addative, corn litter, and Old News... Nothing works. My uncle had a naughty peer and just told me he had to put his on Prozac and it has totally turned him around. I'm thinking this is going to be my last shot at keeping her cause my husband is past his wits end and I'm tired of not being able to get the smell out of the wood. If it doesn't work, I don't think my husband is going to be able to deal with her much longer and I loath the idea of trying to find her a home cause no one is going to want a potty problem cat and she is declawed so outside is not an option. Plus I love her to death and she has the best personality and I would miss her sorely :( Please repost after a bit and let me know if the Prozac is still working!

Dawn :)

I tried all the above or mos t of all the above. the prozac has been working for a year now. Why wait, I'd do it now?
I wish I would have known about it sooner. I would have done it sooner.
Our cat is on a dose of 5 mg a day, but I give it to him every other day. It costs us 5$ for 30 10mg tabs, I break them in half and give him one every other day and that lasts us 4 months. I supposed you could break it into quarters and dose him everyday.
I'd do it now, please let me know how it goes for you I'd like to hear a happy ending.

You can have the prozac put into a liquid that tastes like chicken or fish from a compounding pharmacy. I have to do it for my cats thyroid medicine. I dont know where you are located, but I have used Road Runner Pharmacy, in Arizona I think. They are good and have reasonable prices. THe one I use now is Grandpa's pharmacy, again, good prices, quick shipping, and they call me when it's time to reorder because I always forget. Ask your vet about it. It can turn a stressful wrestling match into a painless non event,
