I bought one of those Pedi things from Petsmart and tried it on our new puppy. Well, it went back the next day. It didn't have enough power and bogged down. It took forever to do anything which just stressed the dog out more and after, his nails looked barely shorter and the pad didn't even appear ruff anymore. The lady at petsmart had warned me that if I was use to using a dremil, I probably wouldn't like it, but our new puppy is freaked by the dremil our old dog didn't mind so I figured it was worth a shot. After I took it back, I hit Home Depot and bought the cordless smaller dremil that is used for crafts. WOW, it is quieter, easier to handle, and half the weight of the other dremil we have and the dog barely struggled when I did all his nails with it. With the old dremil he was flipping out and I was worried he would hurt himself he was struggling so much. By the end with the new dremil he seemed almost bored. That was the best 70 bucks I have spent in a long time!

I know this is about a dog, but I figured it would translate well to a cat since they are smaller and the vibrations and sounds of the larger dremil would probably freak them out even more then our 50 pound puppy. Just an option to consider ;)

Petipaw "professional" dremel like tool. I know there are lots of other models but I did NOT want a battery operated one. I wanted to know running low battery would NOT be a problem for me.

I should let you know there are two companies with very SIMILAR names selling SIMILAR products.

One is called Pedicure the other is called Peticure. The Peticure company is where I purchased mine from. The URL is http://www.peticure.com They have lots of links to videos to demonstrate everything you might ask about.

Has any one used these for any length of time. How do they hold up? How long do the heads and sand paper things last? I am thinking about possibly getting one. I have seen some reviews that said they die at around 3 months, and that the batteries don't last long on the cordless units?
