And for the record, Sharpie has only torn up one carpet.

Folks, if you spill catnip on a carpet, vacuum it up immediately! Some cats can't control themselves. :(

For your first try, I think you did fine, Scott. With regard to the kitten getting into everything that was Sharpie's that's exactly what Zen did to Ming --- but the thing that really got the reaction when when Zen came down the stairs one day, walked right up to me, got on my lap (Ming watching the whole time) and started sucking on my arm! That got a HUGE reaction from Ming...
And it just seemed very intentional on Zen's part (I mean, she was at least six months old and she has NEVER sucked on anything before or after that little demonstration...) So, you are part of the territory and probably the most important part.
