My strange cat

This is just some cat ramblings 

This summer I started putting out a bowl of cat food at the back door, to feed a few strays. There where four of them that on occasion showed up to eat. They would take turns at the bowl. The pecking order went big cat, medium cat, medium small cat, and tiny cat last. Some days only one would show up other days they all would show up but keep a great deal of distance from each other.

On the days that several showed up the tiny cat was always the last to eat. But if I went out there all the cats except the tiny one would run off. The tiny one took the opportunity to jump up and eat. She even would let me pet her. She looked emaciated. I figure that she was someone’s cat at one time since she let me pet her. Either that or she was so hungry that she didn’t care anymore. For several weeks, whenever I saw her, I would go out so that she could eat when the others ran off. I kept petting her and she got used to me.

Mid August I gingerly picked her up and brought her inside. She did not like being picked up but holding her at arms length she let me carry her. My inside cat “Molly” was not too happy about this new situation but they did not fight. They sort of just tried to ignore each other for a week. The new little one spent most of the time hiding. I named her “Zee cat”.

I let her stay for 10 days to get used to things before I dragged her off to the Vet for shots.. She looked like she was about 6 months old to me. She had worms and a massive ear mite problem. I had her treated for those. Then I asked the Vet if she was old enough to be spayed. The Vet checks her belly to make sure she is not pregnant, I assume. Then he checks her teeth and tells me, “This cat is 2 or 3 years old at least”. I was flabbergasted! I asked more questions about her size and all I get from the Vet is, “She is just a petite cat , what can I say? ”.

I applied to the local animal rescue league for their $25 spay coupon for adopted feral cats (since I am *cough*, financially embarrassed). Ten days later I took her back and got her spay (In the meantime I took Molly in and got her shots, and treated for worms and ear mites). The spay went fine, Zee was/is fine.

I am using the CatGenie automatic litter box. I will not give up this thing (CatGenie box) for anything. It has taken me 3 months to house train Zee. In the meantime Molly has on occasion has not liked sharing her box and has on several occasions crapped and peed on the floor in protest. 3 Months to get 2 cats to share a litter box! My willpower is stronger than theirs, I WIN/WON. Both been sharing/using it for a Month now no *cough* accidents 

Zee is by far the weirdest cat I ever had! She must have been the runt of her litter. She is semi short haired, has both the coloring of a calico and the stripes of a Tabby. Her tail is too short ( half the length of a normal cat). She has no (or little voice). She doesn’t meow, or purr (sometimes she sort of squeaks). She is extremely human friendly as is Molly). Zee eats and eats and eats and always has an extended belly. Sometimes she eats till she pukes then eats a little more and sleeps all day. She is a bite-er ( when she likes you and likes getting petted she bites, but not hard. Her nails take forever to grow back after I trim them.

Zee is missing ¼ of her nose. She has a normal nose from the front but going up her face ½ her nose isn’t there it is hair (split down the middle). Her eyes and ears don’t seem to drain fluid. Her eyes build up gook and I whip them every day. Her ears when rubbed make her shake her head. She sneezes at least 4 times a day (somehow often right into my face!). She has a big head and large eyes for her size. She follows me around like a dog and absolutely has to sleep with me.

When I oversleep in the morning she paws at my nose. When I open my eyes I see two big huge cat eyes staring me in the face 

Zee has not willingly left the house since I brought her in last August. I can leave the door wide open; Molly will run out to investigate. Zee stops at the door.

When Zee first came in there where 3 other feral cats showing up. Now there is only one. And he is letting me pet him now! Soon, I fear (lol) I will have another cat! He/she is the big cat from the first paragraph of this post. Molly likes him and Zee is ambivalent.
