Registered users on the forum are required to provide a valid e-mail address. The most basic reason for that is to prevent spambot registrations. I have had to ban a number of free mail hosting services due to abuse. The major ones, such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, etc. are still open.
If you are new user registering on this site, an activation e-mail will be sent to you. Your account will not become active until you follow the link sent in that e-mail. If you are using a free e-mail service, there is a substantial chance that the activation e-mail will be deleted by your service provider.
Yahoo! seems to be especially guilty of this, but they are not the only ones. I do not understand their reasons for blocking us, and I have no way to contact them to find out. Some days I'll see several users register using Yahoo! e-mail addresses and everything works, other days nobody will get any e-mail from litterbox-central, even in their spam folder.
If you sign up and do not get an activation e-mail within about 30 minutes, please contact me directly via e-mail and I will manually activate your account. You can e-mail me at jeff at planetfall dot com. Please send the e-mail from the same address you used when you signed up.
