Drooling cat? :)

Postby Snowball'sMom » Sun Apr 16, 2006 10:00 pm

Hi all!

I adopted a cat on Friday and he has so far demonstrated that he's a master drooler... I'm talking 3 different drips at the same time! I'm carrying around a drool rag with me :) It's been a while since I've had a cat, and I don't remember ever coming across one that drools. Period. Anyone else have this going on?

I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow for his first checkup and I'm going to make sure he doesn't have a cold or something b/c he's sneezing too. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to post drool-rags all over the house from now on.

Thanks!

One of ours drools like crazy when he's being petted, brushed, etc. I think he just relaxes and forgets to swallow... It's gross.

None of mine drool, but I have had some in the past that have. ANd two of my sisiters have droolers. But with the ST Bernard, I've got more than enough drool.

One out of my three drools when she's being petted or brushed too.

That's hilarious
Snowball is drooling a little less now that he's adapting to his new home. I still have drool rags posted around the house though

Thanks for your responses!

I'm sure our cats would be mortified if they knew we were talking about their gross drooling~ afterall, it is SO undignified!!

Our daintiest little kitty likes to sit on my husbands desk and hit his keyboard to be petted. She will sit there for hours... I didn't know this but found out when she adopted this same behavior with me that while she sits there, she tends to drool and every so often she will violently shake her head and splatter my husband (and now me), his monitor, and keyboard in spit... At first I was enchanted she included me in her ritual, after a spit bath or two, not so enchanted ;)

Dawn :)
