When did the Sanisolution and cartridges change?

Postby Pele » Wed Sep 01, 2010 7:47 pm

When I bought my Cat Genie about two years ago, I got cartridges with Eleven contact pins on the usage tracking chip.
I've always gotten my cartridges from Amazon and they'd be shipped from whatever fulfillment center had them available.

More recently, I got some cartridges that have four really wide ones.
Okay... No big deal, a change in parts... Manufacturers go to different vendors all the time.

Along with this change, came a more alarming change.

These newer cartridges have a different solution in them. They make the granules stick together.

This is a BIG problem...

1.) They don't shake loose from the rake. This causes them to get shoveled into the pump by the handful and clogs up the machine.

2.) The cats don't like sticky granules. One in particular pees on my furniture when angry...

Anyone else experience this?

I've got this and two other cartridges to go through... Manually babysitting the machine as it scoops and again after it dries.

Do you have the sani-solution or the deep cleaner. I had this hapend with the super clean or whatever it is called. They had to send me a new rake.

It's just a regular cartridge. I have a CG60. There is no deep clean cartridge for the 60.

I ran one of my old cartridges (I used to order them as a yearly supply.) and it went back to normal.
I've put in another cartridge and it does the same thing. It's like the pellets are covered in a glue.

I have removed the rake and I use a manual rake to shovel the poo and shuffle the pellets around to help them dry.
