Will pump work with drain in basement ceiling

I would like to install the Catgenie in by basement but there is no floor drain or laundry drain there. Is it possible to connect to a drain pipe in the basement ceiling. Will the cat genie effluent pump to that height - approximately 7ft - 6 inches to 8 ft

No...I don't believe the impeller can pump the liquids up that high up. :(

You would need some sort of auxiliary pump to pump it up that high. ;)

There is a way to make this happen if you want to invest in a product that is somewhat spendy. I used to be a plumber and have come across a pumping system that will work like a charm for what you're wanting it for. The brand is Saniflo, which, in the plumbing world, has a reasonably reliable line of products. It looks like a little white tank and it's meant to act as a drainage system for a basement bathroom or just a toilet or any fixture needing a drain. For instance, if you had it just hooked up to a toilet, when the toilet is flushed, all the water from the toilet goes into the Saniflo tank and the tank even has its own impeller blades (which are even better than the ones in the CG) which liquefy any solid waste and after that everything is pumped through a pipe up to existing drainage lines in your house. The pump can pump waste up to 15 feet vertically, which should be ample for you. If I were you, I would look at the Saniflo website (www.saniflo.com) where you can get a lot of good information on this. I think it would be a great help to you. Let me know what you think. I'd love it if this works for you. Best of luck to ya!
