FS: CatGenie 60, resetter by Catman, & cartridges

my cat has a very bad chronic constipation problem, and so his hard poops have proved to be too much for the CG to handle. because of this, we are switching back to regular litter, which he prefers anyway.

anyway, i'm 99% sure i'm going to sell my GC60 and everything that goes with it. i have a resetter made by catman which i have never had any problems with, works like a charm. i also have 5 or 6 cartridges for it. a couple of them still some original solution in them (the scented variety). it was the tuxedo package, so i also have the side walls, hood, and catgenie mat. i bought it december 12, 2008 so it's still under warranty until this december 12th.

i'm sure most of you are, but if you're not familiar with resetting cartridges, you just hold this little electronic device to the sensor things on the cartridge and hit the button. this allows you to fill the cartridge with any solution you want, saving LOTS of money. i saw these selling on ebay a while back for a couple hundred bucks.

i really hate having to do this, but i don't have any other choice. i'm tired of taking it apart once a week to manually empty the hopper. it works fine otherwise, and the problem with the clogging is definitely the cat's poop's fault. i'll completely clean, scrub, and sanitize it before selling. right now it's still in use (after cleaning last night). i plan on doing the swap this weekend.

i'm not sure how to price this...still working on that. if anyone has any suggestions, i'm open to it. i know a new CG60 is about $230, hood $20, side walls $20, cartridges are $15 a piece. those are all new prices though.

i live in NC, and i don't know how i'm going to package it for shipping or anything yet, or how much that might cost. if anybody has any insight into this, please let me know too.

if anyone is interested in buying, please contact me at megan.o.liv[at]gmail[dot]com

I live in California and sold my old Cat Genie 60 on Craigs List. I was able to sell the base.. I kept the side wall and dome for my new unit..

The deal was:

1. Cat Genie 60 wash unit
2. One new cartridge
3. One box of Granules

Total: Sold for $200

I then sold my reset device on Ebay for $175.

I had 3 other 60 wash cartridges new I sold for $40 on Ebay for all three.

okay, it's officially for sale. i bought it in dec 2008 so it's still under warranty until this december. i completely scrubbed and sanitized the CG using a water+bleach solution, rinsing, then wiping it down with Nature's Miracle Advanced cleaner solution, and rinsed again. it's clean enough to eat off of. i have 6 cartridges, 5 of which have been reset. the one that has not is about 75% full.

i'm going to start at $375 for everything: CG60 tuxedo package (dome & sidewalls), mat, turboscrubber/hopper/hand upgrade, & CARTRIDGE RESETTER!

i'm in rocky mount, nc. i can deliver to the raleigh area next weekend if anyone is up that way. i don't know how much it costs to ship this thing but i can possibly find out tomorrow at work.

Any interest in separating out the cartridges and catman resetter?

The $375 price you are asking includes a number of cartridges and a device for changing the cartridges, and may be ok for the short term, but does it make sense in the long view? The new one is $351.

I've been poking around and in researching I've noticed on the warranty page it says "only to the original purchaser". My guess is the buyer of used catgenies will unfortunately not have any warranty. Is this correct? I wouldn't guess how they'd know but I suspect there some way they can check. A warranty for two years sounds pretty good if they don't make it too hard to collect the benefit.

I haven't any mechanical box yet. My experience with Byron is too new. What would the price be without the resetter? Is the resetter that much of an advantage? I didn't think having a cat can be so complicated!!

You bring up good points.

The warranty is non-transferable to the new owner.

Empty, partially used, or reset cartridges don't carry the same value as new cartridges. The reset device is probably worth more than the whole used Cat Genie 60 itself. The processing unit might be worth it to someone who wants to mod it. However, the package being offered here isn't close to the value to a new Cat Genie 120 in initial costs and extended operational costs. That is just my opinion. ;)

it's NOT a 120. i'm really marketing more towards those people who want to completely "hack" it. set up remote jugs of cleaner solution, reprogram it, etc. the empty cartridges have no value to you unless you use the resetter.

and like everything else that's for sale that's used...houses, cars, catgenies...you start high and negotiate down.

annyyyyway, the resetter is gone. the catgenie is up for $200. cg, mat, hood, sidewalls, scrubber thing.
