Lol, I'm going to explain because I have to.
I am into all things that glow in the dark. I started painting star ceiling murals and found a forum that like minded people frequented. We were all learning at about the same time so it was a good place to get info. I then got into casting things using the powder. Anyway, about once a week some new person would enter the forum and ask "How do I make my cornhole bags glow?" Arrgh. I didn't bother reading those threads, thinking it was some disgusting porn/spam crap that I certainly didn't want to be involved with. Or know about.
After about the 20th person asked the same thing, I decided to see what the hell they were talking about. I googled cornhole, expecting to see references to California prisons or something. OMG I was shocked at what I found. Cornhole is a beanbag tossing game. Hugely popular in Ohio, KY, TN, FL, WV, well, pretty much that whole side of the country. I had never ever heard of that game. I was just amazed at how big and popular it is. It involves 2' x 4' boards with a hole cut out in one end. Players throw bags filled with corn at the boards, trying to get it in the hole. Lots of Beer seems to be involved. College logos are common as decorations on the boards, as welll as major league teams. these people are almost cult like in their obsession with the game. They take them to football games and tailgate with them, drag them around in their trucks so they can stop and play at random places - cause you never know when you may run into another cornhole head. A couple of weeks ago the Cornhole King National Championship Tournament was held in Las Vegas. Weird. there are about a bazillion people on ebay selling cornhole bags and boards. There are regulations that determine sizes and weights etc. its a huge industry. The players love it so much they don't want to stop when it gets dark.
They want to throw cornbags in the dark! Board builders are making boards that are lit with LEDs or El Wire for night time play. Thats fine but they still cant see the bags. Enter me.....I found some fabric that glows like you cant even imagine. Thus the beginning of glow in the dark cornhole bags. Personally, I think they should call it something other than cornhole. Anything would be better than that. I get visions of prison sports every time I hear it. Or some kind of homegrown trailer trashy activity. Definately needs a new name
