Huh?? You mean if my PU poops the bed out of warranty I can't get it fixed or buy a new PU? I would have to buy a whole new CG?

Exactly. I recently exchanged some emails with their Customer Service honcho, and he basically told me that they will only sell the plastic parts, not the power units or any components. They want you to upgrade. My response was to the effect that I can go to any Ford dealer and get parts for my 1987 Ranger pickup; why are Cat Genies so different? No answer....

I know, its disgusting isnt it. I emailed and told them I was happy paying for the parts or any work needed. I was categorically told that my unit is out of warranty and no spares or parts would be provided for my CG as per their policy.
I could however upgrade at full cost (how generous) to the new model. I then asked what would happen to these new models regarding spares, I was told "not to worry" as none of the new units are out of warranty yet. I repeated my question and was told that maybe by then the policy would have changed.

Here is the last email reply from them, read into it what you will, but I am not going waste my investment and I am quite hopeful that we can all get together and build a frankengenie :)

Dear Phil,

Thank you for your response. As of right now we do not offer parts outside
of the two year warranty. Since no one is out of warranty on the CatGenie
120 yet it is not a problem for them. Maybe by that time this policy will
have changed. I really do wish I could help you, but we cannot sell you
spare parts outside of the warranty. I sincerely apologize for the negative
experience you are having. Please let us know if there is ever anything
else we can do for you. Thank you again and have a great day.

That is almost word for word the response I got from them. These people clearly want to go out of business...

[quote="Setec Astronomy"Huh?? You mean if my PU poops the bed out of warranty I can't get it fixed or buy a new PU? I would have to buy a whole new CG?[/quote]Exactly. Once your warranty is over, you're on your own. No repairs, no spare parts.

And they're not built to las, I can tell you. I've had two broken scooper motors. One was replaced within warranty, the second box is running CatGenius, so there was no warranty to claim, but fortunately I was able to fix the motor myself. Now I have two broken bowl motors, so I have to move my only working processing unit between 3 boxes to get them clean.

I have tried to obtain replacement motors, but I had a real hard time there.
