1. I think all the recycling discussion should be moved to a different topic... it has moved way beyond the reset device.

2. If we are going to talk about it lets make sure facts are correct.
a. Colored glass is recycled, BUT it can ONLY be used to make other colored glass since the contaminants to make the color can not be removed
This means that colored glass, such as green and brown glass, can only be used to produce new green and brown glass, respectively.
b. Separation of Contaminants: Any glass that has been contaminated by color mixing or other contaminants can be used to insulate fiberglass or as an ingredient in concrete.

So if glass does get mixed it does not go to a landfill.

Then I'm prolly the most unthoughtful recycler around. If it's plastic, glass, styrofoam, or anything other than food type trash, I put it in the recycle bin. My city provided the bin for free. they also sort thru the materials, and resell them for a profit to the city. Since they're only doing this for profit, and not for real recycling purposes (indicated by limiting what we're supposed to recycle), I put it all in and let them sort it out. it's their money if they want it. if not, they toss it much like I would have.
