Has anyone used this litter? Comments?

Are people really experiencing gnats? Yuck!

Any grains/grain material or seeds, if left long enough or in the wrong place, will pick up a nasty little bug that the larva spin webby material where ever eggs are laid by the tiny adult moth. WBCL and Swheatscoop are both could potentially carriers of these bugs. It can be devestating if you have them bad enough as they don't respect anything. They can ruin a lot of food stuff and generally make a mess in plastic bags containing any thing. They are difficult to erradicate. My condolences to anyone that experiences these critters.

I have used WBCL for years and never had any bugs of any kind. I do scoop the box 2-3 times a day, as should be the case, whose cat would want to step in something dirty?

Bugs.... no I've had no gnat things, nor have I had the weevil/pantry pest problems, but I do have ongoing silverfish problems with the box.

My house is/has been since we bought it infested with silverfish. Termite fumigation put 'em in hiatus for about 3 months, but we've had constant problems in spite of over two years of work.... They _love_ the wheat and corn-based litters -- like a buffet. The only good thing I can say is that I put Niban bait stations around the litterbox and nail zillions of 'em when the come.
